Why the She*t for Brains movement matters to me?

She*t for Brains has been a game-changer for me both personally and in my career. It’s a space where people in our industry can talk openly about mental health, and that’s something we really need.

Why the She*t for Brains movement matters to me?

She*t for Brains is one of the most meaningful initiatives I’ve seen in our industry. It reminds us we’re not alone in what we’re feeling, and that just having a space to talk openly, or simply listen, can make a real difference. I’m truly grateful to be part of this.

Why the She*t for Brains movement matters to me?

The work that She*t For Brains is undertaking is not only well past due, it is crucial to the success of both individuals and organizations all around the globe. Supporting mental health in business isn’t just compassionate it’s essential for success. We need to normalize talking about mental health. Ensuring that people understand that there is an entire industry behind them will go a long way to supporting people, and also creating a culture of acceptance and support that benefits everyone. Investing in mental health is investing in people, and people are every company’s greatest asset.

Why the She*t for Brains movement matters to me?

As someone who’s navigated the chaos of corporate life (and even wrote a book about it) I know how easy it is to feel isolated while keeping up appearances. The She*t for Brains movement cracks that façade wide open. It’s honest, brave, and long overdue. Proud to stand with a community that’s making space for real conversations, real people, and real growth.

Why the She*t for Brains movement matters to me?

In a world where traditional and oppressive work environments still exist, I find it extremely important to champion servant leadership that is focused on people, not just profit. I've personally gone through a restrictive work environment to a fulfilling one. One that emphasizes the importance of authenticity and community in the workplace. It is in this journey that I'm on that has me valuing this important movement. For it will take a movement like this to defend against profit first minded leaders. This group allows a place for us to be open. And in being open, we get to really start dealing with our opportunities head on.

This is important work that is setting the stage for how we conduct ourselves, as well as what kinds of environments we create for our employees to conduct themselves. Get this right, and we've created an engaging and enriching work environment where we get to be our authentic selves and where vulnerability is a strength and not a weakness. For this vulnerability is what makes us human and what builds the bond between us. This group helps teach us the importance of a community or tribe. We are not creatures that were meant to live in isolation, but ones that thrive with community and togetherness. Our families may not always understand the pressures and stresses of our work lives and having a community that is in our corner to be there to fully understand these pressures and be there to lean in to support each other is what builds upon our successes. All the while helping create longevity in our passion and better understanding how to run the marathon of our careers and not the sprints of the moment.

I personally love what you all have started while appreciating the boldness that is required to say enough is enough and let's find a better way to move forward. I am ready to be a servant to help bring the movement forward.
